The Go To List….Need Something to Do in D.C.? This List will Have You Looking Like A Regular

I’ve partied around the world, literally, but I still find Washington, DC to be a very unique city for nightlife and entertainment. DC, over time, has become a very mixed bag of activity. We’re all young professionals out to have a good time no matter the vibe. Here’s a list of eclectic nightlife. Pray you have a few DC weekends to try them all out.

A list of DC nightlife would be incomplete without a note about Love Nightclub, formerly known as Dream. It was the home of ballers and shotcallers, and the destination of every tourist who ever came to DC and wanted to party. In honor of Love’s closure, I’ll start my list off at number 9.

9) The Park at Fourteenth- What started out as a casual lounge has turned into the Go to Spot in DC. Usually the hottest on Thursday nights, The Park has a strong turnout pretty much throughout the weekend. When the weather takes a turn for the best, Sundays afternoons will be a big hit again.

8) The W Hotel (Lobby, POV Bar, and Rooftop) –The W opened to much fanfare last spring, and has continued to be a very chill spot in DC due to the swankness of the hotel décor and the W name. Add hot DJs during weekday happyhours and the exclusivity of the Point of View Bar (overlooking downtown Washington DC and a few stone throws from the White House.) If you’re truly lucky, you’ll make it the rooftop, the most exclusive.

7) Policy – if you love hip hop, you’ll love the décor here. Enjoy dinner downstairs and then chill in the unique graffiti inspired lounge. Thursdays are a hit here. Because of the décor, it is a magnet for ‘creative types.’

6) Recess – A newly opened dance spot with awesome signature drinks.Recess is the brainchild of a Howard University Law School Grad who grew a reputation for being a tastemaker in the city. Swanky with strong drinks.

5) Chi-Cha Lounge – A DC staple for many years. Enjoy hookah and a relaxed lounge setting. Choose this spot for the club alternative.

4) The Beacon Summers at the Rooftop are legendary for being the spot for “the beautiful people.” Drinks are expensive, but unimpressive. Bottomless Mimosas and an all you can eat brunch are also popular draws.

3) Zengo – Home of one of the best Happy Hours in the city, if you can get a seat. Enjoy Edamame and Sushi along with some of the best fresh fruit drinks in town. It gets crowded, so arrive early to hold down a section.

2) Tuscana Lounge -Long time promoters Terry Frasier and Eric Taylor (EVipList) have transformed this sleep Italian Restaurant into a popular destination on Saturday nights. Beautiful girls, swagged out lounges make the perfect setting for impromptu photo shoots.

1) Marvin -(not Marvin’s) Only Monday’s with the Soul Controllers will do. Check out their sets every Monday night (2 years and counting). Don’t worry about staying out after your bedtime on a school night. These grooves will having you rolling on a musical high Tuesday morning. Enjoy the party outside or on the dancefloor.
